double standards

it's disgusting how we have become so plagued by double standards that we don't realise that it is a problem anymore!

people are judged differently and based on different standards... why and how can it be so?

even back in sec sch, my teachers always said that being in the best class meant that we were expected to be clean, tidy, obedient, attention-paying and assignment- completing students.
I couldn't understand why. After all, just like the rest of the school, we were 16 yrs olds!!

now i understand.. it isn't expectations thrust upon us that create such double standards. these unfair calls and inaccurate summing up of people and situations are but a mask to either facilitate or enhance one's personal beliefs and position... in other words. double standards are but personal excuses.

I was talking to a friend the other day abt a girl ( LEt's call her the Lady) - a girl who's been sleeping around . Undoubtedly she IS hot and saucy. but the life she's leadin and the things that come out of her pretty lips are nothing short of demeaning AND degrading... and he is all but short of defensive of this petite sex pot... giving reasons for her actions citing possible factors that might have driven her to take the path of a slut.. seemingly amused and entertained by the things she's doing. almost even APPROVING. why?

it's queer to note that the very same guy would lambast (however you spell it) against another girl doing the exact same things... not only would such a gentle nature of "reluctant" acceptance that what the above girl was doing is sleazy be absent, in its place would be an enraged, disgusted, dissappointing and HIGHLY disapproving tone.

NOTE the double standards yet? reason for such appalling difference? a lousy B-grade cover up for his lust of the Lady... the because-she's-got-it, she-has-the-right-to-flaunt-it attitude... the
because-I'll-benefit-from-her-flaunting-so-it's-fine-attitude...

the attitude that screams "I APPROVE" meets bitter rage and vehemence if and when this guy's own girlfriend were to be doing the exact same thing...
why? does the reasons the guy gave in defence for the Lady not apply to ALL other girls as well?
reasons like... thrill... personal search for glamour and fame... --- are these only applicable to just this ONE girl? .. i think not...

Are all guys really the same?
is lust and a sight for the pretty ones a constant variable in each and every one of you?
